Can I give it SIX STARS? -- At first I was hesitant on reading a book written by a child but I was INTRIGUED, so I purchased a paperback copy and read the book. It was so delightfully ENTERTAINING. To my surprise, I forgot the book was written by an EIGHT YEAR-OLD.It’s a very easy read for both children and entertaining for adults. I especially like how the author describes each character’s attributes so I have a strong idea of what they look and act like. The book is dialogue heavy, which I love.
This is a great family experience and fantastic fairytale of a journey lead by magical fairies and two human children. It even has some interpersonal conflicts. Overall, very well thought out by the author. This sparked my love affair with fiction books!
I know I will purchase more for other children in my life. I want to encourage them to read and foster their love for writing. I want to show them that this is doable and they, too, can write a book. I know I am INSPIRED to write mine now that I see this can be done by a young author!

So I bought this book for a friend's daughter as I thought it would be a good inspiration resource from a young author. It's always good to show children that they're capable of doing anything if they work hard enough and have big dreams. I was also curious to what an 8 year old could write about, so I purchased the digital copy of the book. To my amazement, the book is very entertaining and I was captivated by the story's plot and the four fairy sisters. I enjoyed how each fairy sister has their own personality. The book is a light read and fast paced with the main characters encountering many adventures. I highly recommend if you have a child that loves to read. This book and author may inspire them to be creative and do some story telling of their own!
Wow I am so impressed with this book. I read 4 to 5 hours everyday so i was a little skeptical to read a book written by a 8 year old author. I am only 40% thru the book and I only stopped reading it so I can tell you this is a wonderful story line. I love the characters and can not wait to finish this amazing book. Please sign me up for your next book.

A good story is never written 'for' children. It stands on its own, and the same can be said for this charming book written BY an 8 year old. I bought this for the kids in the family, and idly flipped it open to see if it lived up to its promise. And didn't close it till the end! A great story, and recommended for anyone who likes a bit of magic dust sprinkled over their day!
The title and book cover for The Fairies of Waterfall Island caught my attention immediately. The captivating island scenery and beautiful colors presented an invitation I couldn't ignore. I knew my granddaughter would be excited to read this story! We were not disappointed -- it was an adventure with twists and turns but throughout the story, the characters stayed united.
We were taken on a fairy adventure with Fairies and pixie dust and Trolls that all joined forces to recover the missing crystal to save Waterfall Island.
Emma Sumner has created an exciting tale for the young reader that shows how joining together on a mission to fight evil provides strength, bravery, and wit to get the job done and save the Island.
My granddaughter and I will look forward to more fairy adventures by Emma in the future. Great job Emma -- you have set a wonderful example for other school age creative writers to follow!
I looked over at the eyes of my two young children, and they were wide open, staring at me. My son said, "Then what happened?!?!" This was common any time I paused as we read through the book.
I bought this book for my kids to read aloud to them. They love storytelling and picture books. So I gave this a shot. I did not know quite what to expect from this young author.
WE LOVED IT!
I am not just talking about the kids either. I am amazed at where Miss Sumner's imagination took us. I am really looking forward to her next installment (if there is one).
